Privacy Policy

Guardian Chart is committed to protecting the privacy and security of your family's health information. This policy explains what data the app handles, where it is stored, what leaves your device, and the choices you have.

Health Data Stays on Your Device

Guardian Chart does not require an account, sign-in, or email address. Every health record you enter — including family member profiles, medications, allergies, care team, labs, vitals, documents, medical history, and emergency information — is stored exclusively in an encrypted database on your iPhone. We do not have a server that holds your health records, and your health records are never transmitted to us or to any third party.

Anonymized Product Analytics

To understand how the app is used and to improve it, we collect anonymized product-analytics events using PostHog. These events capture things like which screens are visited, which features are tapped, app version, device model, operating system version, and approximate region.

These events do not include the contents of your health records — no names, dates of birth, diagnoses, medications, lab values, document contents, or any other personal health information you enter into the app. Events are associated with a randomly generated installation identifier, not with you personally.

Analytics data is processed by PostHog on our behalf and is not sold, shared with advertisers, or used to train AI models. You can opt out of analytics at any time from the app's Settings.

Data Security

Health records are encrypted at rest on your device using SQLCipher (AES-256). The encryption key is stored in the iOS Keychain and protected by your device's biometric authentication (Face ID or Touch ID) or device passcode. Anonymized analytics events sent to PostHog are transmitted over TLS.

No Sale of Personal Information

We do not sell your personal information, your health data, or your analytics data to any third party. We do not use your data for advertising and we do not show ads in the app.

Children's Privacy

Guardian Chart is designed to be used by adults managing health information for themselves and their family members, which may include children. Records about minors are stored on the device of the adult caregiver and are subject to the same protections described above.

Your Rights

Because your health records live on your device, you have complete control over them. You may edit or delete any record, or remove the app entirely, at any time. Deleting the app or its data permanently removes your records; there is no server-side copy for us to recover. For questions or requests regarding analytics data, contact [email protected].
